Dragomir Greenwood - Greenwood Chapel
I am a member of the virtual community known as Second Life. This is not a place to come in a casual manner and I did not join just for the fun of it, although it is a lot of fun too. My specific purpose in joining was an overwhelming feeling that Christians need to be there and that I needed to make a prayer chapel in Second Life. Although I do intend to try to make some money here just as Paul made tents, the primary reason for my being here is ministry. With over 9 million registered users, over 1 million having been active in the last 90 days and with over 30,000 to 80,000 online at any given time, it is a true "field white for harvest" that many Christians are completely discounting or even declaring to be evil. There is a lot of evil in it, but that is just an exact mirror of Real Life, so why should we not go into Second Life to be a light there just as we do in Real Life. That is my reason for being involved in it.
In Second Life, my online name is Dragomir Greenwood. The first thing to know about that is that you have to pick your last name from a list, you can't just have anything you want and Greenwood was the one I liked best from the list available at the time I registered. Then you can only have a first name that is not already taken. "George" and many other common names I tried were already taken, so I had to look for something unique. I did a name search for names with "Peace" as part of the meaning. Among the results was "Dragos." That caught my eye and I followed the link. It turns out that Dragos actually means "Beautiful," but it led me to another name, "Dragomir" that was of the same root, but that name means "Beautiful Peace." When I saw that meaning and looked at the name, I knew that was it. It sounds almost like "Dragon" which brings up images of terrible fire-breating monsters (like unto the carnal sinful man), but though Christ, such a monster becomes an instrument of beauty and peace. :-)

All are welcome on this property at any time of day or night. It is not a church, but a prayer chapel. The main purpose is simply to provide a peaceful, beautiful place to spend a little quiet time. If you like, you may sit or use the script balls to kneel and spend some time with God or just some time alone. I do not assert that everyone who comes here must be Christian. I deeply desire for everyone to know Jesus, but that is not a requirement for coming to the chapel. Again, all are welcome. There are only a few basic rules as such. I ask that anyone who comes respect the sanctity of the place and respect the other people who come in. It is NOT a place for evangelism. That may seem strange, but there is a proper time and place for everything and this is a house of prayer, not a place for preaching or pressure. If you are a Christian and wish to share the Gospel with someone else who is there, you may certainly invite them out to the campfire, the surrounding gardens or to some other part of SL. If they are willing to go with you to talk, then Praise the Lord and do your best to be Jesus toward them and share the Gospel in light of sharing His abundant life and security. Please don't try to shove the Gospel down their throat.
There is a box for prayer requests on the right front of the chapel. This is actually a mailbox of sorts and you can feel free to make a notecard and drag it onto the prayer request box with anything you'd like to communicate to me. I am the only one who reads these. If you do leave a prayer request, I will be honored to lift your need up to the Lord along with you. If you have Bible questions you would like me to try to answer, feel free to drop those in as well. I don't have all the answers, but I will do the best I can to find any answers I don't have.
Concerning contributions: I do have a contribution box, but I would just assume you not use it. :-) I put it in because I found out that some people in SL are actually offended if you have a place like this and don't have a contribution box. It seems that many use it as a form of expressing enjoyment of the place. I would prefer that you just come and enjoy the chapel as often as you like and give your contributions to a Real Life church in your local community. If you do choose to contribute, you have my thanks, but again, I'm just happy for you to come and draw close to God. That is the whole purpose of this chapel.
On the secular side (ie Paul and his Tents):
Dragomir's is my personal storefront in SL. I specialize in Builders Sculpted Prims including castle crenellations (the notched openings on the walls of castles), stain glass arch windows, 1 prim stairs that do not require a hidden prim and lots more.
